Liverpool legend Michael Owen backs Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey to score against Leicester City

Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen believes that Aaron Ramsey will score for Arsenal against Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday.

Place a bet on Aaron Ramsey to score for Arsenal in his third successive Premier League appearance of the season against Leicester City on Sunday.

That’s the message from former Manchester United and Liverpool star Michael Owen, who believes that the Wales international midfielder will be the source of goals in the absence of injured striker Olivier Giroud.

‘With Olivier Giroud side-lined until the New Year Arsene Wenger will be pleased to have Aaron Ramsey available given he missed the Champions League qualifier through suspension in midweek’, the ex-England international striker wrote on Betvictor.com.

‘The Welsh international is 7/1 to score the opening goal but, having grabbed important goals in both the Gunners’ fixtures to date, the prudent thing might be to back him to score at anytime during the 90 minutes.’

Ramsey was suspended for Arsenal’s clash against Besiktas in the second leg of their Champions League playoff tie on Wednesday.

The Welshman’s return to action will indeed be welcomed by manager Arsene Wenger, who could play Alexis Sanchez as his only striker in the starting line-up against Leicester at the King Power Stadium.

Sanchez scored the goal at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday that secured the Gunners a place in the Champions League group stage for the 17th successive season.

The former Barcelona forward has goals in him, and if star playmaker Mesut Ozil raises his game against the Foxes on Sunday, then the Chile international could be the beneficiary of some superb through-balls.

Arsenal will head into the match as the favourites and, despite not being entirely convincing so far this season in their matches, the North London should pick up all three points in Leicester.
