Fernando Torres' time at Chelsea looks like finally coming to an end, as he is set to replace Mario Balotelli at AC Milan. Since arriving from Liverpool for £50 million it has been a struggle for the Spaniard at Stamford Bridge. In his 110 league games for Chelsea Torres has managed just 20 goals, a poor return considering the outlay The Blues splashed out for his services.
Now the much maligned striker is on his way to Serie A - where he will hope to find the target on a much more regular basis.
Milan are obviously proud of their acquisition, which is believed to be a two-year loan deal, and have been showing it on their official Twitter account.
They got a snapshot of Torres arriving in Milan ahead of his medical and personal terms being formalised this afternoon. They even had a club scarf and shirt waiting for him, although the Chelsea man decided to avoid putting the top on until after everything has been agreed.
And they also highlighted the fact that over 200 fans greeted him at the Ata Milano Linate airport this morning.
The deal should be concluded by this afternoon, with Torres expected to be presented, and possibly play, against Lazio in the Serie A opener at the San Siro tomorrow evening.
Can Torres be a hit in Italy?
