Manchester United’s struggles continued on Saturday as they failed to win against Burnley at Turf Moor in the Premier League.

Manchester United continued their disappointing start to the 2014-15 Premier League campaign as they were held to a goalless draw by Burnley on Saturday.

The Red Devils headed into the game on the back of a 4-0 hammering by League One outfit MK Dons in the second round of the League Cup on Tuesday.

Burnley are one of the three promoted sides and are many football followers’ favourites to suffer relegation to the Championship, but they held their own against United.

Record summer signing Angel di Maria made his debut for the Manchester outfit at Turf Moor, but the Argentina international winger’s presence was not enough to see them through.

United did not show much creativity and imagination, and Burnley deserved the point. In fact, Sean Dyche’s side could have even earned all three points had David Jones’s early free kick gone in instead of hitting the crossbar.

In the end, it was yet another disappointing performance from United, who are still without a win in competitive matches under new manager Louis van Gaal.

Meanwhile, Burnley picked up their first point of the league campaign and will now hope to build on that in order to avoid relegation.
