The 18-year-old starred for the Magpies after coming on against Crystal Palace.
The young winger came off the bench for Alan Pardew's side on Saturday and, within six minutes of his arrival, he had scored a vital goal for the hosts.
That didn't stop Newcastle from dropping two points at home during a 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace.
Aarons, though, has given his supporters something to smile about.
"There’s just something about him," Pardew told reporters after the eventful 3-3 draw.
"I have given a lot of really good players a debut – Jonjo Shelvey, Mark Noble, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain spring to mind – and I would put him in that category, where he is right now but those guys see it through and that’s what he needs to do.
"He really has been a real bonus for us this pre-season and at the start of the season."
Aarons himself, meanwhile, was delighted with his game-changing substitute appearance.
And Newcastle fans, it seems, have taken just as much of a shine to him as his manager.
Indeed, according to many Magpies supporters, the 18-year-old was their only positive from today's game.
Some have also stated that Pardew must now start the winger, following poor performances from many of his contemporaries.
At least we learnt one thing today, Surely Pardew has to start Rolando Aarons from now on. Still need a CB & ST, really showed today #nufc— Nick Hall (@nickhall74) August 30, 2014
Rolando Aarons was big positive of today, still early to judge team given amount of signings, but Pardew needs results fast #nufc— Jacob Jackman (@JakeJackmann) August 30, 2014

Colback easily our best player so far this season imo. Aarons is very exciting. Hope we see more and more of him this season #nufc— M.i.c.h.a.e.l. (@supersonicmike) August 30, 2014
Aarons was literally the only good thing to come from that #nufc— Tom Mills (@_tommills_) August 30, 2014
At least we have Aarons, cracking impact today well impressed by him, nice to see a bit of talent from the academy #nufc— Anthony Candler (@cheeseball1913) August 30, 2014
#nufc needs to start Aarons and cabella as wingers and let them weave in and out. Leave sissoko and colback as center mids.— Rory anderson (@holistic_pickle) August 30, 2014
What did you think of Aarons' display against Palace?
