Kagawa United

Manchester United have sold Shinji Kagawa back to Borussia Dortmund after two seasons at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have continued their transfer business today, with the revolving door continuing to spin. United have been busy bringing players in, but now equally busy sending players out - with Nani, Wilfried Zaha and now Shinji Kagawa all exiting.

United signed the Japanese international back in June 2012 amid a frenzy of anticipation considering the excellent campaign he has just had with Borussia Dortmund.

But his two years at Old Trafford have been largely uninspiring. He has suffered with the physical nature of the Premier League but United have also been criticised in the past for not using Kagawa in the correct way. He spent much of his time out on the left-wing for the club rather than his favoured no.10 role he had made his own at Signal Iduna Park.

But now he has returned to Dortmund - Louis van Gaal deeming him surplus to requirements and selling him for a fee in the region of £8 million.

Kagawa said of the move:

"I have already said on the day of my departure in an interview that the chapter Borussia Dortmund is not complete for me. I wanted to play in the Premier League and fulfil a dream. Now I'm just happy to be back in Dortmund. In this great team, this mad environment, the unique fans. BVB is like a family. I am proud that she has never forgotten me and I may belong again."

Kagawa posed for pictures with his new Dortmund kit after completing his move and he will hope to make his debut against Freiburg next Saturday, back at his old home.

Did Kagawa get a fair crack at United?
