Adebayor on Balotelli: You can't stop a thief from stealing a wallet

Emmanuel Adebayor

The Tottenham Hotspur striker believes you can't stop the £16 million Liverpool striker from 'doing something crazy.'

Emmanuel Adebayor believes it is only a matter of time before Mario Balotelli does something crazy at Liverpool.

Speaking to the press, the Spurs striker says the Italian has learnt from past mistakes - but feels Balotelli will always believe in whatever he says or does, 'no matter how crazy it is.'

And Adebayor even went as far as comparing the 23-year-old to a thief stealing a wallet.

Not because the Reds forward is a thief, of course, but because the Tottenham man believes Balotelli's unstoppable habit is to act out of the ordinary.

“You can’t stop a thief from stealing a wallet and you can’t stop Balotelli from doing something crazy," Adebayor told the Sun.

“That’s Mario, he always believes 100 per cent in what he says or does, no matter how crazy it is. I think he has learnt a lot from his mistakes and now he is another guy.

"Balotelli is a good footballer and a good finisher. And if he has changed like he says he has, he will be a bonus for them this season.”

In a much-traveled career, Adebayor has featured for the likes of Real Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester City as well as his current home in north London at White Hart Lane.

Despite only being 23, however, Balotelli can claim to match that CV, having himself played for City, as well as both Milan sides (Inter and AC).

Now, the Italian starts a new chapter in his career at Liverpool, where it remains to be seen whether Adebayor's claims will come to fruition.

Reds fans will no doubt hope that the only fireworks Balotelli produces are on the pitch.

Will Balotelli end up doing something crazy at Anfield?
