BBC journalist Ian Dennis has tweeted that he has been told that Queens Park Rangers and Liverpool are in discussions regarding Fabio Borini.
The Italian striker was widely expected to move to Sunderland this summer following his successful loan spell there last season; but despite the Black Cats having a bid accepted earlier this summer, Borini remains a member of Brendan Rodgers' squad...at least for now.
Recent reports had claimed Sunderland were still confident of taking the player on loan for another campaign, but it now appears QPR have stolen a march on their league rivals as they seek to sign a replacement for Loic Remy.
The Frenchman has left Loftus Road to join Chelsea and Harry Redknapp would have been keen to replace him if at all possible.
It appears he believes Borini is the perfect option, with suggestions that the player will be another Redknapp deadline-day deal in due course.
Would Borini be a good signing for QPR?
