William Carvalho is reportedly Arsenal's most likely deadline day transfer.
Can the bookies be trusted regarding deadline day transfer deals?
If they can then the prayers of Arsenal fans regarding a defensive midfielder may be about to be answered.
SkyBet have Sporting Lisbon's William Carvalho pegged as the club's most likely addition heading into the final day of the transfer window.

The midfielder was in action for Sporting Lisbon on Sunday night, in a 1-1 draw away at Benfica.
At 22, Carvalho has been linked heavily with Manchester United previously, with Chelsea also credited with interest, yet as the transfer window has progressed it has been Arsenal most consistently suggested as his destination.
He has a £37.5 million release clause in his Sporting Lisbon contract, but previous reports had suggested the Portuguese side could accept a lower offer.
There is yet no news on an actual deal for the player, but Carvalho is certainly a name to keep a close eye on heading into deadline day.
Arsenal's need for a defensive midfielder has been discussed all summer long, but if Carvalho was signed tomorrow and is the only player in, oddly his addition would be under-appreciated.
Right now the Gunners' main requirement is for a top striker capable of leading the line with the injured Olivier Giroud out until the New Year. If one is not available however, manager Arsene Wenger could elect to simply fill another position of need instead.
Do you believe Arsenal could sign William Carvalho today?
