Chelsea stopper Petr Cech refuses to rule out Premier League switch

Petr Cech has refused to rule out a potential move to a fellow Premier League team.

Chelsea have been faced with a predicament this summer over their goalkeeping position. They brought Thibaut Courtois back to the club this summer after his three excellent terms at La Liga side Atletico Madrid.

But they already had Petr Cech at the club, who had done little to deserve being dropped from the Chelsea staring XI. But dropped he was, and given the form of Courtois, Cech does not look like claiming his number one spot back anytime soon.

He is currently away with the Czech Republic on international duty and has been linked with PSG, West Ham and QPR this week. However Sky Sports have reported that he is going nowhere this summer.

But despite that, Cech himself has been far more cryptic in an interview with Sport.cz in his homeland. Cech stated:

"I have not thought about that but I think it is possible. A lot of players are on international duty but still transfers have been made. I don't count on anything but, at the same time, can't rule out anything if there is an offer you can't refuse."

He even refused to rule out a move to a fellow Premier League club:

"This is a question I thought I would never be asked. I don't know. The offer would have to be right for everyone. I don't want to rule out anything, I don't know the answer. I am a player of Chelsea, where I still have two years left on my contract. You can predict nothing in football as nothing is 100 per cent sure.

He continued:

"I have been here for 10 years and this is a new situation for me. I have not been in the starting 11 in the opening three games but there is no reason to panic, pack my things and leave.

"It may happen, it may not happen. The important thing is if I get the chance to fight for the position of No.1 goalkeeper. It depends on the manager what decision he makes and on whether I get a chance.

"I don't know if there is a loan or a permanent move on the agenda, there has been plenty of speculation. Only at the moment when there is an offer on the table, I will start speaking about it."

So with just a few hours left of the Transfer Window, there is certainly a small chance that he could be on his way out of the club, although reports suggest he will not be leaving the club.

Will Cech remain at Chelsea?
