Manchester City defender Micah Richards is said to be on his way to Italy to complete a loan move to Fiorentina.
That is the claim of Guardian journalist Daniel Taylor, who has tweeted that if all goes well, the temporary move will become permanent next summer.
The latest claim backs up reports recently published by the Daily Mail, which suggest Richards is set for Italy after West Ham United balked at the former England international's wage demands.
Richards has been tipped for a move away from the Etihad for the last few transfer windows and plenty of clubs have found themselves linked with the versatile defender over the years.
But if the latest report is true, he will be swapping the Premier League for Serie A, at least for a while.
Still only 26, Richards has time on his side and a move at this stage of his career could be exactly what he needs to turn a mixed few seasons around.
The Mail's report adds that City are seeking a £1million loan fee for the defender; something it appears Fiorentina are not put off by.

Would you be sad to see Richards leave City or is the time right for him to do so?
