Mohamed Salah could have left Chelsea this summer according to reports in Italy.

Chelsea reportedly offered Mohamed Salah to Inter Milan during this transfer window, only for the Italian club to reject the possibility.

Inside Futbol has picked up on claims from Sky Italia that Chelsea were prepared to offload the Egyptian international just eight months after he arrived at Stamford Bridge.

Salah arrived from FC Basel in January for a reported £11million, and it would be a huge surprise if Jose Mourinho really was prepared to part company with the player after such a short space of time.

It is not revealed whether the alleged proposal was for a permanent move or a loan spell, but either way, Inter will not get the player, meaning we may never know how much truth there was in just one of a number of rumours to have done the rounds on transfer deadline day.

Salah has impressed for Chelsea in his brief spell at the club, scoring two goals and providing two assist in his 11 appearances.

At just 22, he is very much a work in progress, but one who has already shown he can cope with the pressure at Stamford Bridge. And regardless of the latest rumours, he now has at least until January to prove he has a long-term future at Chelsea.

Do you think Salah will prove to be a success at Chelsea?
