Just when you thought that Liverpool have seen the last of Luis Suarez, he returns to the club that elevated him to worldwide fame.
According to Sky Sports News, the Uruguay international forward arrived in Melwood this morning to collect some of his stuff that he had left behind when he left for Barcelona for a reported transfer fee of £75 million earlier this summer.
It has also been reported that Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is at the club’s training facility as well, and the two players are certainly going to have a conversation about a number of things.
Perhaps one of the topics of discussion will be Suarez’s unsavoury behaviour at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. The two players are good friends and have a mutual respect for each other, and there could well be some words about that biting incident that proved to be the catalyst in the 27-year-old’s departure from Anfield.
Whatever Suarez and Gerrard discuss this morning, it is indeed interesting to observe that the former striker has come back to Melwood for his stuff on the final day of the summer transfer window.
Some have started to wonder if perhaps Liverpool are going to re-sign Suarez from Barcelona (as you can see from the tweets below), but that is certainly not the case. He is at Melwood just to pick up some of his items and will return to Barcelona.
Should Liverpool make a signing on transfer deadline day?
