Sandro hoping to have similar relationship with QPR fans as at Tottenham

Sandro completed his move from Spurs to QPR yesterday.

Newly signed Queens Park Rangers midfielder Sandro has said he hopes to have a similar relationship with the fans at his new club as he did at Tottenham.

The Brazilian midfielder completed his move from White Hart Lane last night for a fee believed to be around £10 million and it reunites him with old boss Harry Redknapp at Loftus Road.

Sandro told the QPR website: “I like new challenges and this is one I’m really looking forward to. Working with Harry again, who I share a great relationship with, is very special to me.

“Football is in my heart and I’m very happy at this moment. I’m very pleased to be here and I’m looking forward to meeting my team-mates.

“I had a good relationship with the fans at Tottenham Hotspur and I will try my hardest to get the QPR fans to like me."

From the second half of last season it seemed that Sandro's days as a Tottenham player were numbered after he was left out by then head coach Tim Sherwood. He was continuously linked with a move away from the club, with several Italian clubs rumoured to be interested.

He also didn't play any part in Tottenham's opening three Premier League games which suggested he wasn't going to become a first-team regular under Mauricio Pochettino, though he did appear in the Spurs side that overcame AEL Limassol in the Europa League play-off.

But what QPR have bought is a player proven at the Premier League level that can offer them some power and control in the middle of the park, and should prove to be a very good addition to a side that is looking to keep itself in the top flight. They will be hoping that injuries don't quite blight his career at his new club as much as they did at White Hart Lane.

Good performances at Loftus Road will the main factor to him having a good relationship with the fans at his new club.

Will Sandro be a good signing for QPR?
