After his shock exit from Watford, Giuseppe Sannino has emerged as one of the favourites for the Leeds job, but he may be tempted by the chance to return to his homeland.
Former Chievo coach Sannino unexpectedly left Watford on Sunday night just three weeks into their new campaign despite an impressive start to the season with four wins from five.
The Italian has been listed amongst the likely candidates for the Leeds job, although bookies seem to favour Steve Clarke and Oscar Garcia, although he looks likely to turn the chance down.
That may be because Sannino is also being tipped to take over at Serie B side Bologna, who are trying to bounce back to the top flight after last season's relegation.
Italian football is renowned for its quick turnaround of coaches and decisions are often made early in the season, so Lopez may be axed sooner rather than later.
The Corriere di Bologna believes that Sannino is being considered as a possible replacement for Lopez and could receive a call this week in preparation for a managerial change.
If Leeds do decide that they want Sannino then they may have to make a move immediately.
Who should be the next Leeds manager?
