Window closed: Who are the bookies backing for the title and relegation?

José Mourinho Celebrates

Burnley, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Manchester City and Manchester United all feature.

The transfer window has closed until January 1 following some dramatic late business from clubs all over the Premier League yesterday.

Radamel Falcao now plays for Manchester United, Arsenal signed a striker and there was plenty of movement from sides expected to be scrapping near the bottom of the league for most of the campaign.

Following the late transfer business, we’ve taken a look at the odds to see who the bookies are backing for the title, relegation and to break into the top four.

Premier League title

Chelsea remain the odds on favourites with the bookmakers at a best price of 4/5 in many places.

Jose Mourinho did a lot of his transfer business up front to escape the euphoria of trying to sign players late in the window and so far it’s paid off for the club, with some impressive attacking performances.

Manchester City are the next challengers at a best price of 11/4.

Relegation

Burnley are the odds on favourites at 1/2 to be relegated.

Sean Dyche’s side added striker George Boyd to their ranks yesterday but that doesn’t seem to have convinced the bookies that Burnley will beat the drop.

Palace have also been backed to go down in the market with 8/5 the longest price on them to be relegated.

Top Four

Manchester United securing deals for Daley Blind from Ajax and Radamel Falcao on loan from Monaco, hasn’t convinced the bookies United will finish in the top four.

They are the only side out of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City not to be considered odds on in the race for a top four position. The best current price on United getting back into the top four is 5/4.

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce is the favourite by some distance to be the nest manager to lose his job at 2/1.

Next in line according to the bookies are QPR manager Harry Redknapp and Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert, both at 7/1.
