The Shazam movie based on the DC comics will star former WWE star Dwayne Johnson.

Following the news that Warner Bros. have been registering domain names for upcoming DC comics-based movies, one of them being 'ShazamMovie.com', actor Dwayne Johnson has confirmed his involvement.

After several hints at a DC movie role, Johnson finally confirmed the character he will portray in the comic book universe - Black Adam.

'#TheAntiHero' hashtag Johnson used in his tweet suggests he'll portray the more recent comicbook iteration of Black Adam as an antihero, rather than the original villain version of the character. Thanks, Variety.

Marvel has been building their superhero movie universe for years now, but it looks like DC are finally following suit with Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, and eventually a Justice League movie.
