Two renowned pundits wax lyrical over the transfer business conducted by Hull City on transfer deadline day, earlier this week.

The manner in which Steve Bruce and Hull City conducted themselves in the transfer market, with meetings even taking place during the eleventh hour of deadline day on Monday, has attracted widespread praise for pundits - with Jamie Redknapp and Martin Keown believing that, pound-for-pound, the Tigers may have gotten the best deals out of all Premier League clubs.

"Hull signed match- winners in Gaston Ramirez and Hatem Ben Arfa," said Redknapp.

Over the course of the summer, Hull successfully recruited nine players including Jake Livermore, Tom Ince, Michael Dawson, Abel Hernandez and Mohamed Diame.

It was the players Bruce acquired on deadline day though that have caused a great impression.

Keown added: "Hull landing Ben Arfa… he was never a bad player, he just fell out with Alan Pardew.

"He has so much ability!"

Ben Arfa competed in 27 Premier League games for Newcastle United last term, a stark contrast to the amount of pitch-time his fellow Hull City signing enjoyed on the South-Coast.

Ramirez was a bit-part player in Mauricio Pochettino's Saints set-up last year as he was largely restricted to a bench-warming role.

However, in that time, he did demonstrate that he is able to frequently get on the ball as he received a touch every 1.02 minutes.

The Uruguayan also attempted a pass more frequently than Ben Arfa, created a goal-scoring opportunity with more regularity and returned the same amount of assists despite playing a fraction of the total time the Frenchman enjoyed at Newcastle United.

Ben Arfa has the edge over Ramirez when it comes to precision in the pass, his ability with the ball at his feet and his accuracy in front of goal.

Who do you think will be the better Hull City signing? Ben Arfa or Ramirez?
