Tottenham Hotspur morning news: Van Gaal takes stab at Spurs, Walker surgery

Louis van Gaal - suited and booted

A round up of news stories about Tottenham Hotspur this morning.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has revealed that he could easily have ended up at Tottenham.

The Dutchman has been tasked with the overhaul at United following the sacking of David Moyes last season.

“I could have easily gone to Spurs. But I chose the biggest challenge of all the jobs in football. And I really wanted to join the number one club in the country, not Tottenham,” the Dutchman is quoted by the Mirror.

Spurs right-back Kyle Walker has undergone surgery on an abdominal injury.

The talented defender has not featured for Mauricio Pochettino’s side yet this season as he fights to get back to fitness.

Spurs haven’t set a concrete return date for the defender to return to training and subsequently the first team.

New Tottenham Hotspur signings Federico Fazio and Benji Stambouli have been given their squad numbers for this season.
